Based on the research of Dr. Martin Seligman, founder of Positive Psychology, this keynote explores the surprising architecture of happiness and what we can learn from it for our own lives. Solidly based on research and using practical examples it suggests concrete approaches and strategies how to flourish and thrive.
Authentic Leadership
Practicing authenticity is not trivial and is more than just “being yourself”. It requires more than just sincerity – it is also a skill. For a leader, there are three keys to skillful authenticity:
- Demonstrate Character: leaders have to act in line with your expressed values. Followers constantly test this consistency between what is said and done by leaders.
- Differentiate Yourself: leaders need to show what they are made of. Only if leaders have a clear “gestalt” versus the masses do they earn the right to be followed.
- Disclose Weaknesses: leaders need to openly deal with own “non-fatal” shortcomings and invite their followers to compensate for them.
